In the face of global volatility, MedShare continues to deliver impact here in the US and around the world.
As MedShare will soon close out our fiscal year, we remain focused on mission delivery and the promise of what’s to come in FY2027.
Greetings, friends.
As Chair of the Board of Trustees at MedShare, I want to personally thank you for your unwavering generosity and commitment to our mission. Your support is not only a gift—it’s a lifeline for people around the world who are living in crisis, from war zones to underserved men, women and children right here in the U.S.
Because of donors like you, this past year has been one of sustaining impact. Together, we’ve helped deliver hope, healing, and life-saving medical care to some of the world’s most vulnerable communities.
What you helped make possible in FY26:
- $5.1 million in humanitarian aid delivered to 40 countries
- 948,922 patient visits enabled based upon the average cost for a charitable provider to procure basic medical supplies and specialized equipment
- On track to effectively double the volume of medical supplies and equipment delivered in FY25
- 6,035 MedShare Clean Birthing Kits and BabySafe Emergency Kits distributed, ensuring safer birth environments in high-risk settings for expectant mothers in developing countries & a measure of support for mothers in crisis in the US
- Year-round support for our disaster preparedness efforts was strengthened by a two-year disaster readiness pilot launched with Philips and the Philips Foundation. Designed as a model for future expansion, the pilot focuses on reusing donated medical equipment by returning devices to MedShare for reprocessing and redeployment after each emergency. This approach maximizes the impact of each biomedical device while setting a new standard for sustainable, environmentally responsible disaster response.
Advancing Maternal & Child Health Outcomes Internationally
MedShare is approaching a historic milestone with the final 10 container shipments of life-saving medical supplies and biomedical equipment to charitable hospitals in Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire—regions that have long faced some of the world’s highest maternal and infant mortality rates. These shipments mark the culmination of the 10-year Safe Birth Initiative (SBI), an innovative collaboration among MedShare, The Coca-Cola Company’s West Africa Business Unit, and the Federal Ministry of Health (Nigeria) that has seen over $50 million of medical supplies, equipment and biomedical training impact healthcare in the region. While significant challenges remain, both countries have achieved measurable improvements in maternal and child health outcomes during this period, including substantial declines in maternal mortality in Côte d’Ivoire and improved child survival rates in Nigeria. These gains underscore the importance of sustained investment in healthcare infrastructure and frontline clinical capacity.
Celebrating Our Impact Here at Home
Thank you once again for your belief in our work and your continued partnership. Wishing you and your family a healthy, happy summer.
You may remember that last year, thanks to the generosity of longtime partner BD, MedShare delivered 92 new portable ultrasound machines to 80 free and charitable clinics across 30 states—the largest single domestic medical equipment donation in our history. Over the past year, these machines have transformed care by equipping clinics with critical diagnostic tools to expand prenatal services for women who might otherwise lack access to care. Most importantly, this sustainable investment will continue improving health outcomes in at-risk communities for years to come.
In addition, we are deeply grateful to those of you who joined us at HumanKind 2026, a celebration of the power of partnership, generosity, and community in advancing healthcare access for vulnerable populations around the world. The energy in the room was inspiring, and the overwhelming support for MedShare’s mission generated tremendous goodwill and momentum as we head into the new fiscal year. Together, we will continue to help build healthier, more equitable communities through the power of partnership and human kindness.
Looking Ahead
While this past fiscal year brought significant external challenges that affected both our operations and the broader humanitarian landscape, MedShare remained focused on what matters most: delivering critical medical supplies and equipment to communities in need around the world. Indeed, this has been a more difficult operating environment than in recent years, but I remain deeply encouraged by the resilience of our partners, donors, volunteers, and staff — and optimistic about the path ahead.
Warmest regards,

Tom Hawk
