March 16 Proclaimed MedShare International Day
State of Georgia Proclaims March 16 MedShare International Day
Atlanta, GA (March 16, 2023) – In honor of MedShare International celebrating its 25th year of providing healing and hope to impoverished communities worldwide, Georgia Speaker of the House Jon Burns and State Representative Becky Evans presented a proclamation officially declaring March 16 as MedShare International Day in Georgia to MedShare CEO & President Charles Redding. MedShare and its dedicated volunteers and partners work every day to help provide access to healthcare for the most vulnerable communities across the state and around the world.
“We couldn’t be more grateful for the service of our staff, volunteers, partners and donors in their extraordinary commitment over the past 25 years to helping our underserved neighbors,” said Redding. “We stand on their shoulders as we celebrate this honor and our silver anniversary.”
MedShare has delivered over $256 million in medical supplies and equipment to 117 countries and territories to equip over 876,000 health care professionals to treat over 30 million patients worldwide and trained over 7 thousand biomedical engineers, technicians and end-users to properly maintain and use critical biomedical equipment.
MedShare has also responded to a number of disasters and global pandemics including the Ebola outbreak, earthquakes and hurricanes in Haiti, earthquakes in Napal, the COVID19 pandemic in the U.S. and abroad, and the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Currently, MedShare is responding to the dire medical crisis following the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria with shipments of critical medical supplies and equipment to frontline health and humanitarian partners.
