MedShare Activates Disaster Response in the Wake of Hurricane Melissa

As Hurricane Melissa leaves widespread devastation across Jamaica and parts of the Caribbean, MedShare has officially activated its disaster response protocol to support affected communities whose healthcare systems have been severely impacted.

Our response team is already working closely with partners on the ground to conduct a comprehensive needs assessment and determine the most critical healthcare priorities in order to equip frontline health workers with exactly what they need — when and where they need it most.

MedShare has also opened its full medical supply inventory to any medical mission teams or organizations traveling to, or shipping supplies into, the impacted region. Teams can access supplies at MedShare’s Medical Supply Center in Decatur, GA or place orders online to support the immediate medical response.

As always, MedShare is deeply committed to the long-term recovery of the region’s healthcare infrastructure and will continue to work with local and regional humanitarian organizations for as long as it takes to rebuild and restore essential health services.

Your support right now helps us mobilize the critical medical aid that will help save lives in the days and weeks ahead.

MedShare will keep you posted as the situation evolves.
