MedShare was honored at the first annual Atlanta Hawks Unity Game on October 10th at Phillips Arena. CEO and President, Charles Redding, accepted a donation to advance the organization’s mission to improve the quality of life of people and our planet. MedShare was chosen as one of six organizations to be recognized at the game.
The Unity Game was between the Atlanta Hawks and 2016 NBA Champions the Cleveland Cavaliers. Supported by both teams, the Unity Game celebrated multicultural groups, diverse populations and organizations committed to improving relations among different groups. It was broadcast on FOX Sports Southeast at 7:30pm EST.
MedShare also hosted Hawks employee volunteers during its all-staff service day on October 7th. Hawks staff members sorted and repackaged over 3,000 pounds of medical supplies to be shipped to Haiti for Hurricane Matthew relief efforts as well as underserved communities all over the world. They also learned how MedShare collects surplus medical supplies and equipment and delivers them to recipient healthcare organizations in underdeveloped nations to help strengthen their health systems.
