Oceana Bridges Healthcare Gap for SE Florida’s Vulnerable Communities
Founded in 2022, Oceana Community Health emerged with a bold mission: to reimagine care for communities too often overlooked by traditional healthcare systems.
Oceana Community Health is clearly driven by the belief that healthcare is not a privilege, but a human right. What began as a small, grassroots initiative to address critical gaps in access and health literacy has grown into a trusted, full-spectrum safety-net provider. Today, Oceana serves seven counties across Southeast Florida — many of which face some of the region’s most severe social and economic barriers to care.
From preventive screenings and behavioral health services to HIV treatment, STD testing, and mobile outreach, Oceana brings care directly to the communities that need it most. Its multilingual staff foster trust where fear once prevailed, and its holistic model ensures that every patient receives more than a diagnosis — they receive dignity, respect, and hope.
Oceana’s mission aligns seamlessly with MedShare’s commitment to eliminating barriers to equitable healthcare and strengthening clinical capacity for frontline providers.
This summer, Oceana was one of 80 free and charitable clinics nationwide selected to receive a lifesaving ultrasound machine from MedShare, made possible by a generous donation from longtime partner BD. The impact has been immediate and profound.
“Though medical supplies enable us to provide care each day, MedShare’s donation of an ultrasound machine has elevated our clinical capacity beyond what we imagined,” said Dr. Youssef Motii, Executive Director of Oceana. “Our providers now have life-saving diagnostic tools at their fingertips, empowering them to intervene earlier and improve outcomes. We’ve also expanded our Women’s Health and Healthy Heart Programs, offering accessible obstetric and vascular care to patients who previously had no options.”

As free and charitable clinics across the country continue to grapple with financial uncertainty — from funding cuts to the unpredictability of Medicaid reimbursements — MedShare remains steadfast in its support. By helping clinics save every possible dollar on medical supplies and equipment, MedShare helps ease the burden of impossible choices: like whether to keep the lights on or provide the standard of care their patients deserve.
