Today, the health of America’s most vulnerable is at even greater risk.

Your generosity is already making a difference. Together we can do even more.

Right now, charitable healthcare providers are facing unprecedented challenges. Funding is shrinking. Medicaid reimbursements are uncertain. And yet the number of patients in need continues to rise.

This is a critical moment — one that requires bold, compassionate leadership from humanitarian organizations like MedShare and generous donors like you.

There are many impactful ways to deepen your support and ensure that frontline healthcare workers who provide care for underserved individuals and families have the supplies and equipment they need to meet the need in their communities. When you give strategically, you not only sustain our mission — you help scale it in times such as these when the need is greater than ever.

Make a One-Time Gift

Your donation directly supports the delivery of life-saving medical supplies and equipment to medically vulnerable communities. Your gift will have an immediate real-world impact in vulnerable communities where equitable access to healthcare is in danger of disappearing.

Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) allows you to recommend grants to qualified nonprofits over time while receiving an immediate tax deduction when you fund the account. If you have a DAF already, recommending a grant to our organization is simple — and can be one of the fastest ways to help us respond to urgent needs.

Why it matters:
DAF gifts are often unrestricted, meaning we can apply them where they are most urgently needed — whether that’s responding to a disaster, shipping supplies to under-resourced clinics, or sustaining operations.

Ready to give through your DAF? Contact your financial planner or reach out to MedShare’s Michele Egan, Chief Development Officer, at 404-593-2067 or megan@medshare.org.

Transfer Appreciated Stock or Securities

Gifts of stock are a smart way to give — especially if the value of your investments has grown. When you donate appreciated securities directly to MedShare, you may avoid capital gains taxes and receive a charitable deduction for the full market value.

Why it matters:
This type of gift often results in a larger donation than if you sold the stock and donated the cash — and it provides vital resources without impacting your cash flow.

We’re happy to help facilitate your gift. Just contact Michele Egan, Chief Development Officer, at 404-593-2067 or megan@medshare.org.

Make a Gift from Your IRA

If you’re 70½ or older, you can make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your IRA — up to $100,000 annually. These gifts count toward your required minimum distribution and can lower your taxable income.

Why it matters:
QCDs are a powerful way to fulfill your philanthropic goals and provide consistent support — especially for recurring medical supply shipments and ongoing program needs.

Leave a Legacy Gift in Your Will or Estate Plan

By naming MedShare in your will, trust, or beneficiary designations, you make a commitment to health equity for future generations. Legacy gifts cost nothing today but have lasting impact.

Why it matters:
Legacy giving helps us plan for long-term sustainability. It ensures that even as today’s crises evolve, our mission will endure.

Let us know if you’ve already included us in your plans — we’d love to thank you.

If you don’t yet have a will or estate plan, now is as good a time as any to take care of that! August is designated as National Make a Will Month, and there are many free resources available. Here is a good place to start.

Make a Monthly Gift

Recurring gifts provide steady, reliable income that we can count on — especially when emergencies arise or budgets are tight.

Why it matters:
Predictable funding means we can plan ahead, respond faster, and deliver support exactly where and when it’s needed.

Donate Real Estate or Other Non-Cash Assets

Gifting real estate, vehicles, or other non-cash assets can have significant tax advantages and may enable you to make a larger gift than you thought possible. We can work with your advisors to facilitate a gift that fits your situation.

Why it matters:
Non-cash assets are often underutilized in philanthropy — but they can unlock transformational impact for the men, women and children we serve

Employer Matching Gifts and Workplace Giving

Many employers offer matching gift programs or workplace giving opportunities. This can double — or even triple — your impact.

Why it matters:
Your employer’s match could help us serve even more free and charitable clinics. Every $100 donation supports roughly 20 patient visits — which is significant because most of the clinics we serve operate on an annual budget of $250,000 or less.

Check here to see if your employer matches donations.

Now Is the Time to Act

Every week, we hear from more clinics and community health programs struggling to meet basic needs. As resources dwindle and patient numbers rise, the gap is growing wider — and the consequences are real.

We believe that access to healthcare is a human right. If you do too, we invite you to consider how you might deepen your support. Together we can rise to meet the need!

Your strategic gift today can help save lives tomorrow. Let’s talk about what giving looks like for you. Contact Michele Egan at megan@medshare.org or Karen Flayhart at kflayhart@medshare.org to learn more.
