Warehouse Associate

Description

The Warehouse Associate is responsible to safely operate in a warehouse environment, completing shipping, receiving and inventory management tasks. They will put-away received products, pick and stage orders, and load shipments for overseas destinations. This role will retrieve product for packaging / sorting operations, complete inventory counts and assist with various inventory movements as required. The successful person in this role will enjoy attention to detail and have a can-do attitude to help achieve the MedShare mission.

Position Type: Full Time
On-Site, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm, Saturday availability as needed (up to twice a month)
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

Duties & Responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations

  • Accurately use mobile scanner to properly select and move product
  • Unload delivery vehicles, and assist with dock and inventory organization
  • Put-away product or supplies into designated storage bin locations
  • Retrieve and stage product and supplies from warehouse bins to support sorting / packing operations
  • Accurately pick designated product for orders, building the appropriate-height pallet for the assigned shipment type
  • Scan and add labels to case-lot pallet items prior to staging
  • Create, wrap and label pallets of product with Order # for order staging
  • Support inspection and preparation of containers for loading
  • Load pallets and equipment onto containers, including down-stacking of pallets as needed; ensure all required items are loaded
  • Accurately complete bin to bin movements to consolidate bin locations
  • Complete assigned inventory audit tasks, including periodic counts, culling of unusable product, and the annual physical audit.

Safety / GMP

  • Safely operate material handling equipment (MHE), including sit-down and/or standup forklift and pallet jack
  • Safely operate pallet wrapping equipment
  • Maintain warehouse conditions by regularly cleaning and sweeping warehouse storage areas
  • Observe safety regulations
  • Properly dispose of waste, including unused sharps
  • Refrain from eating in any warehouse area
  • Quickly identify, contain and clean spills and leaks
  • Report any problems with equipment or racking to Manager

Administrative / Other

  • Complete sorting and packaging of case-lot materials as assigned
  • Help with special event set ups
  • Assist donors when they deliver product to warehouse and assist recipients that come to pick items up, as needed
  • Work on special projects as needed and other duties as assigned
  • Manually record donation receipts, as needed
  • Utilize WMS to receive donated product, as needed
  • Provide accurate weights and measurements for receipts, Airfreight and/or LTL shipments, as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent GED Certificate
  • 2+ years’ experience in distribution center, warehouse and/or production operation environment
  • Forklift certified with demonstrated ability to safely operate basic warehouse equipment (forklift, pallet jack)
  • Able to work steadily and independently with minimum supervision and to follow standardized procedures
  • Able to perform regular physical activity on a daily basis in a non- climate-controlled environment.
  • Able to regularly lift 50 lbs; occasionally lift 100 lbs.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including occasional weekend
