This recognition places MedShare in the top 1% of U.S. nonprofit organizations.
October 2, 2017 – MedShare, an Atlanta-based humanitarian aid organization dedicated to global health, was named a 4-Star Charity by independent, nonprofit rating organization, Charity Navigator. This is the 13th consecutive year that MedShare has achieved this honor.
Rated on donation transparency, organizational accountability, and measurable impact, organizations earning a 4-Star rating are placed within the top 1% of all U.S. nonprofit organizations. Having served more than 19 million patients in 100 countries, MedShare’s strong financial health and responsibility to its donors were highlighted in the announcement.
“We are honored to receive this recognition,” said Charles Redding, CEO & President of MedShare. “We strive to be transparent and accountable in our work because we know that our donors care deeply about our mission and the communities we serve. This honor serves as a welcome reminder that our mission depends on the conscious and mindful giving of the communities that support us. We will work hard to continue to maintain the faith and trust of thoughtful donors.”
“The nonprofit sector is advancing and expanding. As our organizations evolve, so do the desires and interests of our supporters. Astute donors are yearning for greater accountability, transparency, and for concrete results from us,“ said Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator, in his announcement to MedShare. “The intent of our work is to provide donors with essential information to give them greater confidence in both the charitable decisions that they make and the nonprofit sector.”
