There is still so much work to be done.
As we approach the one-year mark of the Ukraine conflict, MedShare is steadfast in supporting our partners and the selfless healthcare workers who continue to deliver hope to the local population. And the devastation caused by the massive earthquakes in Turkey and Syria nearly three weeks ago is testing healthcare institutions delivering humanitarian aid.
We know the recovery period for the affected regions will be long and challenging. At the same time, there is the constant threat of neglected infectious and tropical diseases that compromise the health of more than 1.7 billion people living in the poorest and most marginalized communities of the world.
I always look for a silver lining in a dark cloud. I am hopeful. Perhaps the increased knowledge and awareness of the ongoing struggles will lead to renewed efforts to coalesce and overcome healthcare disparities.
Working together, we can continue to support underserved communities that lack the resources to do it alone.
Yours in health,
Charles Redding
