Volunteer Spotlight

Shannon Beck has been volunteering with MedShare in our Northeast Region for just over a year. But in that time, she’s made an enormous impact.

As our newest region builds a volunteer corps in the New York area, we always need volunteers who take a special interest in our mission and go the extra mile during sessions. According to Jason Montagna, our Volunteer Programs & Warehouse Manager in the Northeast, “Shannon is great to work with and approaches volunteering at MedShare with a positive attitude and energy. She’s able to easily connect with other volunteers and guide and assist new volunteers with activities. She’s a huge help in keeping things running smoothly!”

As Senior Clinical Research Associate, Shannon has first-hand knowledge of American healthcare systems. In fact, that’s what led her to MedShare. “I always wondered where those unused supplies went after our research studies. When I saw a post to volunteer in order to recycle unused medical supplies and materials, I jumped at the opportunity!” That enthusiasm has helped her lead new volunteers in sorting projects and supported our volunteer team as they work hard for our mission.

Every Saturday when Shannon comes to MedShare to volunteer she knows she’s doing so much more than sorting products. “I love being able to find a home for the unused supplies and save lives and our planet at the same time.”

Thank you, Shannon! We couldn’t do it without you!

The thing I enjoy most about MedShare (if I had to pick one) is just being able to give back and make life easier for others, plain and simple.”
