MedShare attends national meeting of similar organizations

On October 10-12, MedShare participated in and co-sponsored the second annual meeting of Medical Surplus Recovery Organizations (MSROs). The meeting culminated in an agreement spearheaded by MedShare and several other organizations to form a national association of similar groups. The mission of this association will be to provide resources that support MSROs in their work to promote global health, environmental stewardship and community awareness.

Nineteen organizations and several vendors attended the meeting and discussed topics including warehousing, customs, product sorting, expiration dates and quality control. The goals of this year's conference were to share best practices, brainstorm solutions to common problems, and discuss the framework for a national association. During an informal poll, all attending organizations expressed interest in forming an association.
