“This day marks a tremendous milestone for MedShare. It’s remarkable after 10 years in operation to be standing here today celebrating 500 shipments of vital medical supplies to those in need around the world. This accomplishment wouldn’t be possible without the support of our donors, board, staff, and volunteers along the way,” said A.B. Short, MedShare CEO & Co-Founder.
Over 100 honored guests gathered at both MedShare locations on Tuesday, Nov. 17 to celebrate this organizational milestone. At the Southeast Distribution Center, guests enjoyed Ecuadorian food and entertainment while hearing from Michael Gardner, MedShare Board of Trustees Chairman; Glen Reed, Chair of the Southeast Regional Council; and A.B. Short, MedShare Co-Founder & CEO. The Honorary Consul of Ecuador, Patricia Boezio, was also in attendance, and on behalf of her country, expressed her gratitude for the medical impact made on the people of Ecuador over the years.
The event closed with everyone participating in a champagne toast as the 500
th container embarked on its journey to Ecuador from MedShare’s 50,000 square-foot warehouse in Decatur. Click

“The Southeast Council is proud to be sponsoring this monumental shipment. This is our inaugural project as a support group for MedShare, and it has proven to be an excellent way for us to pool our resources to get an important shipment on its way to the recipients, while also spreading the word in the Atlanta community about MedShare,” said Glen Reed, Chairman of the Southeast Council.
Regional Councils generate awareness of MedShare in our areas of operations and raise funds to support and sustain the organization’s healthcare, humanitarian aid, and environmental mission. They link MedShare’s work to the communities we serve and are a supportive resource to the board and management.
Cheers to 10 years, 500 shipments and many more. We couldn't do it without your support!
